Yoanna's first picture was the eighth call-out.

At the beginning of the competition, Yoanna wasn't the most memorable model. She was also called out by judge Janice Dickinson for being too fat for the industry. She also had  a few arguments with fellow contestant Camille McDonald. But she later proved that she was worthy of the title by pulling off great pictures and by demonstrating her big personality. And after ten weeks of competition, Yoanna was named America's Next Top Model. Yoanna won a contract with IMG Models, a fashion spread in Jane Magazine and a cosmetic campaign with Sephora.

Yoanna signed to 1st Opinion Model. She has walked for various designers. She has done modeling for Psychology Today, Hannah Anderson, Careline Cosmetics, Jane, Jacksonville, Metro Style and she is an icon for Sephora. She has done commercial work and she also hosted shows like Queen Bees and The Look For Less.
